Before I was a Mom…

By October 29, 2015Motherhood

I thought moms that had c-sections were too posh to push.
I thought moms that didn’t breastfeed were lazy.
I thought moms that co-slept had no sex life.
I thought moms that only wanted one child were selfish.
I thought stay at home moms were spoilt and had ‘the life’.
I thought moms that never joined in on girls night were boring.
I thought moms that never called me back were shitty friends.
I thought moms that wore their babies constantly were spoiling them.
I thought moms that stopped dying their hair were neglecting themselves.

Now that I’m a Mom I know…

C-sections are not the easy way out.
Breastfeeding is really hard and it’s okay to use formula.
Co-sleeping = sleep for all.
One child is plenty, but any +1’s are a blessing.
Stay at home Moms have the toughest job in the world, hands down.
Going for a girls night out is madness.
Calling friends back can take a few days, and then some.
Babywearing makes life simpler, happier, more joyful.
Streaks of grey hair really ain’t so bad.

Being a Mom means…

Surrendering to each and every moment.
Acceptance in it’s purest form.
Joy. Peace. Fullfillment. Love.
Tears. Sweat. Prickly legs.
Eyelash kisses.
